Are my documents stored after my session?
No. EDN uses a zero-persistence architecture — your documents are never retained on our servers. Files route directly to PROOF for your notarization session and are purged from EDN systems immediately after the transaction. For healthcare and other regulated documents, all PII and biometric data collected during the session is cryptographically purged within 24 hours under our Stateless Purge Policy.
How does EDN prove a notarized document hasn't been altered?
Every notarization carries a cryptographic seal over the SHA-256 fingerprint of your signed document. You keep the certificate and can verify it against the document at /verify, checked against our published public key. Any change to the document breaks the seal, so the record stays independently verifiable — even without EDN — for the full life of long-lived documents such as estate trusts, clinical trial records, and real estate deeds.
Is it safe to share sensitive legal or regulated documents online?
Yes. Documents are transferred over 256-bit AES (AES-256-GCM) encrypted connections using tokenized, time-limited upload links, so only the notary can access them. Files never travel through unsecured channels and are not retained after your session. Every notarization also carries a cryptographic integrity seal over its SHA-256 fingerprint — a certificate you retain and can verify against the document at /verify, checked against our published public key.
